Posting a picture of

Brandy's birthday gift that I made, gave her then took it back. I know indian giver.hahaha... Well I took pictures while we were out celebrating her birthday ...... Then I developed them and put them in her book.. Now she can have her present back!

Our girl day was so much fun! When we are all together out and about we always get complements like.... "Can I hang out with you guys?" "You girls look like you are having a blast"... ect..and so on.... No matter how stressful life can get.... I can always count on my friends to make me laugh! Each one brings something different to the friendship... Through good times and bad may our friendships last two life times! Peace oUt!

Another pictureless layout...haha... This one is Tyler's Halloween page. He was a random scary creature... So I was able to use cool Halloween paper. I used the eerie basic grey paper, some spider web stuff, paper tearing and inking.... Silver brads to hold my web. Big plastic spiders that came in the pack with the web (which I found 90% off) Also embellished w/stickers that came on a 12x12 sheet. A little glossy accent for texture and this layout is a wrap!

Although some of our regular Wednesday scrappin pals were not able to play with us today they were there in spirit! We missed you guys! Us girls managed to get two ,two page layouts done, take a field trip to the scrapbook store and have a yummy lunch of gumbo and very white rice.haha. We all worked on this layout together and we even used a technique Amy taught us... You can make a flower out of cupcake wrappers. All you do is cut splice toward the center evenly all the way around and wala you have a flower! So pick up those 90% off Halloween goodies and start embellishing! I am not a big fan of scrappin before pics are developed but it seems to be working out well. You just look at the layout and order the sizes to fit. Thanks for peeking!!! Check back soon ...........

This is a cute little layout that Jamie, Deanna, Brandy and I created today using the Halloween line by Making Memories. I calls for a 5X7 picture and a collage of wallets. We also used chip board shapes, bingo cards and googly eyes on our bat. The decorative edge scissors made a come back on this page as we used it to shape the edge of our orange paper. A cute bling spider hangs from the web... He came in a goodie bag that we got on our field trip to Simply Scrappin! Boy did we hit the jackpot with the awesome sales Elizabeth had today! Thanks... And Happy Birthday 2 u!

Last Arkansas Page... Book complete! & A little boohooing session ha

Last week us girls got together for our weekly Wednesday crop. As usual it was great! The food yum .. Jamie out did herself (when they come to my house they get left overs..ha ha).. But most of all the friendships that us girls share! I know I say it often how thankful I am for my friends. I cant even imagine my life with out ALL of them. Deanna, Jamie, Brandy, Heather,Monica and yes you to Amy lou... At one point or another in my life each on of you guys have been there to pick me back up when I was down. This past year of my life has been pretty rough. I got the chance to get very close to someone only to watch her slip away.. Now only three short months later we are going thru the same thing with my father in law. Then throw in the heart aches of raising a teenager in todays world ...... Wow! So again to all the wonderful women in my life "THANK YOU" for always being there to encourage, give advice but most of lend a shoulder! I love you guys...........................................

This was a very easy and fast layout to do. I used the Fancy Pants Halloween line. On one of the coordinates was a sheet of journaling blocks..... sooooo.... I realized that they made a perfect wallet matt! Hand cut a few embelly's added some goggly eyes to the bats a little journal block and it was a done deal. Except of course to add a few pics.. Which we are sure to have many!

Wow...... What a great trip! us girls and one stud pony! I have never laughed so hard in all of my life! To have a great family is luck (& I am very lucky), but to chose friends that make your life so fun in good times and bad is an awesome thing! To be together for this trip was like turning back the clock to the teenage days of laying in bed chatting laughing and just being silly. The stud in the pic is my grandfather who came along for the ride to see his son and cook for us every night. He gave the girls hell and they gave it right back. I will post some other random pics from the trip. Hope you enjoy checking them out.

The first evening there my Grandma had a fire going and we roasted our own hot dogs. then off to bed to rest for our big day of shopping.
We walked the beautiful down town area, and did the tourist stuff. Went in and out of many wonderful shops. Soaked our feet in the hot springs. the last pic is us at Star Trax Studio in down town hot springs, were we recorded a music video to Proud Mary by Tina Turner and our very own Jamie was on the mike.... And her trusty back up dancers! We will laugh at that video for years to come.

What can say..... AMY you did it again! This past Friday I attended Amy's Faith 365 Crop. This time I brought along my gang some who had never been to one of Amy's crops....... And we all had a supper fun time. Between the projects.... prizes... little how to make and take goodies... to the yummy sweets and treats... This girl always seems to out do herself. We all told her thank you a hundred times.... And we had to apologize for getting a little loud and out of control.

The pics above are my blue jean pocket book that I made at the crop. And I also did a 4th of July layout as well. I guess the rest of the time was spent laughing hysterically and stuffing my face with Petite Fours which I was the lucky lady that got to bring the left overs home and my kids and hubby tooo could not rest until they were all gone! The 4th @ our home is always spent being lazy, relaxing on the front porch watching the kiddos pop some firecrackers. This year my big boy was in Arkansas so the girls did all the popping. Which was a first for Rie Girl..... She is chicken like her Nanny.....haha I had picked up this paper a while back at T.M. as well as the transparency. The journaling circle comes out of the everyday life journaling book by Little yellow bicycle.... I bought everyone they made and have managed to use them on almost every layout to date....

I have been in my scrap-room the past two days and noticed right outside my window was a bird nest. I kept seeing the Mom and Dad go back and forth. Feeding the babies. So I took a few cool pics. Then today I look out and the "the little dude" is on the move. So I again got my camera . This pic reminded me of the Dr Sues book... Are you my mother? Although we loved you deeply, we could not make you stay. Your golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us , He only takes the best.

After a long year of struggling to fight Leukemia My aunt Suzanne "Chilly" Boudreaux passed away at her childhood home in the arms of her mother, father and myself... I was truly blessed to have spent the last year with her... to get to know her so much more than an aunt and more like the sister i never had. She will be missed and never far from my thoughts.

Screams of joy could be heard at 3:11 when the Bell sounded... Leap results were in. I thought Tyler was going to jump in the car through the sun roof he was soooo happy. I knew he could do it but I was still relieved that the waiting was over. So tonight after his sisters T-ball tournament we all went out for ice cream to celebrate. Job well done!

Miracles Do Happen!

Many of you have heard me talk about my aunt Suzie. She was diagnosed last May with A-plastic anemia which really turned out to be Leukemia six months later. She was then given a seven day round the clock dose of chemotherapy. By then she was very weak and due to a suppressed immune system had contracted an infection in her blood and a mass on her lung that the Dr.s believed was fungal. Her very low platelet count made it impossible to get a good sample of the mass. While waiting for her donor white cells and her own cells to kick in along with the many transfusions of blood and platelets she ends up in I.C.U. Wednesday we were told that it was only a matter of time before her heart gave out. She was moved out of I.C.U. to be in a room were her family could be with her till the end. Then on Saturday morning she got her MIRACLE! One of her many doctors came in and gave us the news that they were finally able to put a name to her infection which was the same bacteria that was on her lung. It is rare and slow growing and is usually seen in aids patients. He is very optimistic that with a twice a day dose of antibiotics it will start to clear the infection, her fevers will subside, and her own immune system will kick in and her heart rate will return to normal as she starts to move around. Saturday evening she was given her first pill, by sunday her white cell count was up to 300 from 0 and as of today it was over 500!!!! She seems to be doing better each day.

So with all that said..... I want to thank everyone for their prayers... keep it up they are working! I want to add that I have some of the most wonderful friends in the world. Over this past year I was blessed with the chance to bring Suzie to her appointments or the sometimes not so nice job of rushing her to the hospital. But through it all my girls were just a phone call away! Thanks for your support, answers to all my medical questions even though I did not like some of them. And you guys never thought twice to offer help with the kids on the many times I was called to be by her side. Family and friends are special... cherish each day!

Her position is first base but she moved to the pitchers mound last night. It was so windy but they played well. The first two days Deanna, Jamie, Brandy and I all worked together to scrap all of our Mardi Gras & St Patricks day pictures. Then we all did our own thing. Just before I left for s.f. the girls got their class pics in so I dug through my left over school stuff and was able to pump out these two simple l.o.

6 Facts about me......

1. I have very compulsive obsessive tendencies... Such as never being able to leave my home with a dish in the sink , without the sink being DRY, beds all made , basically house needs to be spotless . I know this sounds silly and I was not always this way believe me ask my mom my room was always a disaster! I just have a need for things to be in order and organized. I LOVE and can't live without my pocket planner. And for someone who never wears a watch I am NEVER late... Usually 15 minutes early. If I say I will do something you better believe it!

2. Like Amy I also grew up in California. San Jose which is about an hour or so from San Francisco. We moved back to LA. when I was twelve. I much rather the slow friendly country life then that of the big city.

3. I am a women of many hobbies ... Of course scrap-booking, gardening I have never met a flower I did not like, I always have a book going, can be found regularly at the gym, or in a boat or working in the oil-field side by side with my best friend (my hubby). Usually have a camera in hand wether it be for me, a friend, or a stranger just call me "Christie Cam."

4. I am a big-time animal lover... and have been known to bottle feed a wide array of critters. And go figure that my husband is one of the biggest hunter that south Louisiana has ever known! Back before all of our children were here I could be found in the fields with my man. My favorite part was getting me a big cup of coffee and sinking down in the back-seat to listen to the men talk and carry on and tell their stories!

This picture of our whole crew was taken at a Halloween party to celebrate the anniversary of some friends that got married a few years ago on October 31st. Every year they have a big bash at Poches Country Club which happens to be walking distance from our home. It is always fun to get us all dressed in costume. Looking at this picture it is hard to believe it is already February!

This is my last soccer page for Raven till next season. I have a hard time doing one pagers so I will print some action shots (thanks J) to add for the second page. I scrapped at home so other than the cardstock and print(moxie) everything else came out of my stash. Black ghost flowers, red square transparency, journaling square, left over chipboard circle and i dont even know what to call my flower centers.... but old!

The Seas... With Nemo & Friends

This was another fun layout to work on. I used the glittery patterned paper for my background. The stripe is cosmo cricket. For my title I had taken a picture @ the ride entrance then blew it up to an 8x10 and cut it out. All my nemo friends were printed off Disney clip art. I glued to a few sheets of card-stock to make them dimensional.

I had to scrap these pictures of the girls (& grown ups) acting silly.... I had no paper picked for this layout.... I was cropping @ a friends house mid week ... in my comfy clothes... oooh poor me... Well the moral to this story is the friend I mentioned above who I might add has quite a collection of goods if you know what I mean... Said "GO DIG" "HELP YOURSELF"... So needless to say I found some paper that I thought was perfect. Cut some strips. I used a square punch and popped up all the squares for dimension. I used some left over fast passes as embelishments. Cut out mickey from a post card and my Disney on a dime layout was complete. I am having so much fun scrappin these Disney pictures. I know I will eventually get burnt but not any time soon.

Well of course it is. Every book needs a first page haha. Every one that knows me ... knows I have a hard time putting one page layouts anywhere other than the first page. I need both pages side by side to match thats just one of my compulsive tendencies. But I have to admit this one pager was allot easier and was kinda fun. There was no worrying if both pages flow etc. All that was used was a print background, transparency that I cut up, a journaling card stuck behind pic,brads, ribbon and a short sweet and to the point title that I left naked!

I picked paper for this layout last week and finally got to work on it last night. I was happy with the way it turned out. Love all the color & dimension. I tried to take a picture to show the arrows and street signs are all popped up. How can anything Disney not be GREAT! Paper is from T.M. & chipboard arrows are from my evergrowing stash..... stay tuned for more.

My man & I posing with the BONES @ Animal Kingdom! Simple layout using all my old jumbled up letters that I crackle painted and wrapped with wire. Space was an issue at first cause i only had two pics... so i solved that problem with some paper layering and journaling strips. Flat & to the point.

I thought it would be cool to recreate the logo outside of the Dinosaur ride. So i layered different cardstock glued to chipboard inked and distressed. And topped it off with a dino head i cut out of my park map.

Don't you just LOVE it when you find the perfect paper to match your pictures!!!!????!!!! Makes you feel like the paper was made just for you??? Well that is how i felt when I located this.... I loved how the fence in the big pic matched the stripped paper so well!!! It made everything else easy. I got many compliments from this layout that I think is very plain ... The chipboard shapes were in a pack found @ Treasured Memories. I covered them with paper, sanded the edges and that is about it. Thanks Jamie Loo for picking my paper. I cant wait to see your layout!!

The Genie & Abu

Here is another Disney layout. I was told I had to make a genie bottle for this layout by a nice lady hehe.... So the very challenged not to be outdone person that I am went home with a mission. Looked up Genie bottles got a very small picture. Then drew and hand cut one out of chipboard. I painted it and stickled it and was pretty happy with my work. I used little yellow bicycle paper and hand cut all the swirls to look like smoke. This was a fun layout to do!

Ticket To Terror

This was a very cool but TERRIFYING ride that my family all loved except for my chicken hubby who opted to pass. It was hard to pick paper for this layout because of the colors... Most of the papers that went really well were all too girly and not scary! After much searching this is what i came up with.. And my friend (M.D.) gave me some cool transparent tickets that ended up being used as part of my title. This paper was found in the Thanksgiving section @ T.M.

Stitch's Great Escape

This was the very first attraction we did @ the Disney's Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom... Stitch popped up and spit in my hubby's face. It was too funny. And it just so happened that this was my very first layout of Disney. Since this layout I have definitely not gone in any order. I have been having a ball scrappin our trip. I have not been able to scrap any Disney so I am settling for updating my blog with pics. We all went eat at Chef Mickey's and had a ball. The kids enjoyed it very much. The characters were so cute. Animal Kingdom

Wow...what a vacation! We had so much fun that it is hard to put into words the feeling of seeing the look on your children's faces when they experience the magic of Disney. The great effort put into making everything so real is even better than i remembered as a child. Animal kingdom was our families favorite park of all. We spent two days there and did and seen all. Expedition everest was the best roller coaster ever! The safari was out of this world...we thought we were in africa... Loved all the animals & the scenery and landscaping was just breath taking. Tyler & Raven got special attention with their It's my birthday pins, and they learned many neat facts on Rafiki's island. Oh let me not forget that my hubby also enjoyed his picture with "Pocahantas" pssst...guesss what momma got a little action as well when she got a picture with Prince Caspian & Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty & Belle. I will post more pics soon. I only took 900 so check back. Layouts should be pumping out shortly as well. Come on creativity!!

The Snow

As usual i was up starting my day with the same old routine... clothes put the coffee on etc. But then i looked outside and realized it was snowing and it was sticking! Usually 4:30 to 6:00 am is my quiet time before i wake the house...NOT TODAY I ran through the house hollering it's snowing. The kids flew out of bed even my sleepy head Rieli girl got up. They had so much fun playing and making snow men throwing snow and rolling snow. It wasn't to long before we came in because it was cold. Well most of us were ready to go in ... Raven made me dry her clothes had some hot chocolate and was back out there making snow angels. She did not want to come in. School was cancelled for a SNOW DAY so we got to spend the whole day just being silly, playing games and staying warm ! I cant wait to scrap theses pics.

Disney ready or not here we come!

In three days we leave for Disney!!!!!! We are going with my Grandma & Grandpa, My Aunt and their kids. I am just about packed and today i finished the last of seven autograph books, and two Disney albums that will be given to family as gifts on our trip. I started out only making 4 autograph books but i could not leave out the teenagers so i made them one to. The kids as well as us adults are so supper excited for our trip. I am sure i will take lots of pictures and have many layouts to do when I return. Everyone have a very merry CHRISTmas.

Arbor Oaks Scrapbook Retreat House

If you look at the collage of pictures at the beginning of this post you would think that us 5 girls did not accomplish a thing.... ha... but as you can see we not only had a dream vacation with rest & relaxation we got some stuff done. This trip was .. How can I put other than just what I needed before the hustle and bustle of the holidays. The house we stayed @ was out of this world AWSOME! Deanna, Brandi & I stayed in the room with 3 beds so after calling it a night from scrappin we laid and talked laughed some snored and dozed off(ME) then pillows were thrown(@ me). We shopped of course at the local scrapbook store in Lake Charles ate many wonderful meals. Deanna's red beans and rice were delicious. Brandi made wonderful chicken caesar wraps and i brought along some good old gumbo. One night Heather and Amy made a midnight run to canes for nourishment. Oh & I think Brandy and i snuck off to a daiquiri shop only two blocks away for an adult beverage.... only one but a good one! What a fun trip. Cant wait to do it again.

Besides being crazy busy with the hustle and bustle of school ... and dealing with two storms I have finally had a chance with the help of two lovely ladies to prepare for our upcoming getaway!!! We have for the last two weeks been preplanning all of our layouts. I plan on being very productive and hopefully will have many layouts to post when i return!!!

We were very lucky. No damage to our home. Just a big mess. It took us about three days to get our yard back to normal. I was a little sad about my live oak that I planted when Tyler was a baby. The wind snapped it in half . I will just plant another one .

Jamboree

Does this look like the faces of sore losers???? Of course NOT! This morning we had our first football scrimmage against St. Leo and despite the boys best effort we lost by two touchdowns. It was a very hot and muggy morning but that did not keep the fans away as you can see Ty had his fan club in the stands. Looking forward to a fun season... and cooler weather.

I used the bo bunny football paper from treasured memories to do this fun layout of my muddy guy. The black swirl is the new vinyl stuff from T.M. that i cut apart. I also cut up a football transparency and laid over my pics. The other embelishments are cut outs from a coordinate . As always I like to keep it simple and ALL about the pictures! Ty enjoyed getting very dirty at practice this day and I was so proud of how clean i was able to get his uniform.... then he came back from practice the next day just as dirty. eeek. Football Time Is Here!

There is something about seeing 500 students attending their school mass that just warms my heart and gives me goose bumps ! We were so proud of Tyler. Today was his turn to help with mass. So he is seen here holding the banner. Tyler and his class also sang for us.....I was very near tears but had to collect myself because my fourth grader on the side of me told me to suck it up. They definitely grow WAY to fast!

This was a fun layout to create that took me most of the day Saturday. The wave was hand cut out of paper then put on chipboard and i used ultra thick embossing powder to make it shiny. It started out as a lift then added a few of my own touches. I wanted to make this page special. On this day we dropped the kids off at school and hit the lake. We caught lots of fish and made it to the dock just as it started to rain.

One Sunday morning after church my hubby was reading his paper and i was flipping through the sales and I came across some walgreens coupons. Then I thought ... How fun would that be to cut the coupons out and have a scavenger hunt. So we split the coupons into two groups and off we went. My husband was caught cheating... he asked the clerk to help him find baking soda. Needless to say the boys ended up winning and i got some shopping done in record timing!
